Wyoming Permit Test FAQs

How many questions are on the real Wyoming permit test?
The Wyoming Class C knowledge test contains 25 multiple-choice questions covering traffic laws, road signs and safe-driving rules.

What score do I need to pass?

You need a score of at least 80%, which means answering at least 20 of the 25 questions correctly.

How much does the Wyoming test cost?
WYDOT does not list a separate fee for the standard Class C knowledge test. A Wyoming Class C learner permit currently costs $45.

Can I take the Wyoming permit test online?

No. You must appear in person at a Wyoming driver exam office to obtain a learner permit and take the required written knowledge test and vision screening. You can begin the application process through oneWYO, but the actual knowledge test is taken at the exam office.

What should I bring to the Wyoming DOT office?
First-time applicants must provide the required documents proving identity, legal presence and Wyoming residency. Wyoming requires two proofs of current residency, and your Social Security number must be provided on the application. Applicants under 18 also need a parent or legal guardian to sign the application.

What happens if I fail?
If you fail the Wyoming written test, WYDOT allows you to take the same written test no more than twice in one day.

Are these practice tests based on the Wyoming Driver License Manual?
Yes. These practice questions are designed to help you study topics covered by the official Wyoming Driver License Manual, including traffic laws, road signs, safe-driving practices, right-of-way rules and driver responsibilities.

What is in the practice permit test?
Our comprehensive Wyoming mock tests contain 25 knowledge questions, with a target of at least 20 correct to match Wyoming's 80% passing requirement. All tests use the same question database, where the questions are selected at random from these categories:

Number 2

Begin with shorter quizzes

Start with road signs, lane rules, and right-of-way. These build strong foundational knowledge.
