What score do I need to pass?

You must answer at least 75% of the questions correctly. That means at least 15 correct answers out of 20.

How much does the Oklahoma knowledge test cost?
The fee to issue and print an Oklahoma Learner Permit is $42.50. Each failed written-test attempt adds a $4 fee, which is collected when your permit is issued. Some CareerTech testing centers charge a separate $25 testing fee.

Can I take the Oklahoma permit test online?

Yes. Oklahoma offers the official Class D written knowledge test online. You need a desktop or laptop computer with a front-facing camera, microphone and stable internet connection. Mobile and touchscreen devices are not supported. The online test has a 60-minute time limit.

What should I bring to the Oklahoma DPS office?
Bring proof of identity, proof of lawful presence, proof of Oklahoma residency, your Social Security number and any applicable driver-education documents. Applicants under 18 must attend with a parent or legal guardian, or provide the required notarized Parent Authorization Form. Two proofs of residency are required if you want a REAL ID permit.

What happens if I fail?
If you fail the Oklahoma written test, you can try again the following day. The written exam may be taken as many times as necessary, but online testing is limited to two failed attempts before you must continue testing in person. A $4 fee is added for each failed attempt and is due when your permit is issued.
